Pass distribution for registered delegates and festival office inauguration of the IFFK will start tomorrow (December 7). Originally scheduled to be held today (December 6), the inauguration was postponed following the demise of Tamil Nadu former Chief Minister Jayalalitha.
Minister of Culture A. K. Balan will inaugurate the festival office; The minister will also hand over the first delegate pass to actor Manju Warrier at Tagore theatre at 11 am on Wednesday. As a gesture of transgender-friendly initiatives of IFFK-2016, Manju Warrier will hand over delegate pass to activist Sheetal Shyam at the function.
Cultural Secretary Rani George IAS, Chalachitra Academy chairman Kamal, secretary Mahesh .B and vice-chairperson Bina Paul will attend the ceremony. The delegate pass, along with the festival kit can be collected from Tagore Theatre on producing the fee receipt at the delegate cell.
A press conference by Chalachitra Academy Chairman, Kamal will also be held at Harmony Hall of Mascot Hotel at 12 noon on Wednesday.
